We get it! Change, especially when it involves your little one, can be daunting - we have put together a list of frequently asked questions to help clear up those unknowns - if you have any more questions please reach out to us or your child's center.

I’ve been told my child’s service is moving to cloth – How does this work?
Your child’s center is provided with everything they need and trained on how to get the perfect cloth fit so you don’t have to lift a finger to make environmental change! Your child will come to care and be sent home in a disposable nappy (Unless you use cloth at home than you’ll only need to send one spare nappy and a wet bag for the day!)
How easy is that!

The staff in my childs room are already so busy – will this take away from the care and love they are able to provide my child?
Absolutely no! Our cloth nappies are as easy as disposables! So staff can continue pouring the same amount of energy and love into your children every day!

What type of ongoing support is available?
Service staff are offered ongoing support through Newy Nappy Co with training, information sheets and workshops, you are always welcome to reach out to us yourself with any questions where we can assist with understanding the process or starting your own cloth nappy journey.

Lets get real – how much is this going to cost?
If your service already offered nappies – most services are sticking to their original fees as Newy Nappy Co nappies are around the same pricess as disposables. Although, if your service previously asked families to provide their own disposable or cloth nappies you may see a small increase in fees as would be expected with any services moving to supplying nappies, you should discuss this with your service provider.

How will this impact our family?
You shouldn’t even notice! The transition should be smooth and easy for your family. You will be sent home in a disposable nappy so expect a quick change before you head out the door, you may need to leave an extra minute or two to allow this.
Whilst staff are mastering their cloth nappy fit they may experience a few extra leaks – we suggest packing additional outfits for the first few weeks whilst staff nail the fit.
We also encourage families to dress their little ones in looser fitting clothes as cloth nappies are a little bulker than disposables, tight fitting clothing may become uncomfortable.

Are children sharing nappies?
Newy Nappy Co nappies are laundered to industry standards and sanitised twice between wears so you can be assured that your child is wearing a nappy that is as clean and as fresh as its first wear.
Unlike some childcare centers that reuse nappy covers between changes, washing them only at the end of the day, Newy Nappy Co nappies are only worn once before being thoroughly cleaned and sanitised.

My baby has nappy rash – I’ve heard cloth nappies can make this worse
You most likely heard this from your own mum – she’s thinking old school terry cloth nappies with plastic outer cover, washed ineffectively at home with a bunch of nasty 1980’s style chemicals – that sentence alone is giving me a rash! Newy Nappy Co nappies are laundered in a way that ensures ammonia is completely removed from fabrics and our detergents are gentle on the environment and your little ones skin! Not only that our nappies are designed to wick moisture away from babies skin and are completely breathable. So, if you have been experiencing rashes in disposable nappies – you may even see an improvement using cloth!

This is amazing! Can I do this at home too?
We are trialing a cloth nappy service at home with collection organized through your service, you simply collect a nappy bin and liner from the service with clean nappies, and drop off the used nappies in the liner the next day grabbing a fresh set on your way out the door – Cheaper than a disposable and easier than laundering your own cloth! It’s a win win! Please use the expression of interest form to enquire about this service (not available at all services)
